Vigil Scheduled for Postal Worker Killed By Lightning

A candlelight vigil is scheduled for 9:00 tomorrow night in honor of a postal worker killed by lightning. The ceremony will be held at the site of the tragedy at Highmount and Venice drives in Ferguson. That's where 34-year-old Christine Jones sought cover under a Sweetgum tree as a violent thunderstorm moved through the area Tuesday afternoon.

Diane Santiago works from her home. An energy efficient home is important to her. But she's never requested an energy audit. So when she got a call from a man trying to sell her the service she asked lots of questions, "When I asked where they were located he said it was in St. Louie and I asked for the address of the company and he said he wasn't allowed to give me that."

Rebuilt Zoo Entrance to Have New Centerpiece

The south entrance to the St. Louis Zoo will soon have a new centerpiece. A huge bronze elephant will greet visitors as they enter the zoo. "It's been a long process. It took about two years to create this piece," said Kent Ullberg, the sculptor of the piece. It's a 19 foot bronze sculpture of an African elephant.
