Free agent forward Paul Kariya will not play next season after being diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome. The decision was announced Friday through a release from his agent. Don Baizley said in a statement that the decision was reached after Kariya was examined by concussion specialist Dr. Mark Lovell.

Quin Snyder once was the next big coaching star in college. He led Missouri to four straight NCAA appearances and one trip to the final eight. As quickly as Snyder rose at Missouri, his fall was just as swift. The Tigers stumbled on the court and were plagued by off-the-court problems. Snyder officially resigned in the middle of the 2005-06 season. He says he may as well have been fired.

Missouri running back Derrick Washington was accused of sexual assault by a former tutor in June and could still face criminal charges related to the incident that may be behind his indefinite suspension. Boone County court records show the woman, a Missouri graduate, obtained a protection order against Washington on June 22.

The people who run the Edward Jones dome tell FOX 2 that they can re-model the dome to keep the rams from leaving town when their lease is up. The Ram's contract is clear. Unless the Rams have one of the top eight facilities in the league by 2014 the team can leave St. Louis.

Sam Bradford passed his first test as a starting quarterback in the NFL. The player who ended the game at that position for the Rams, Keith Null, directed a drive that set up Josh Brown's 37-yard field goal. The final play that gave St. Louis a 36-35 exhibition win over the New England Patriots on Thursday night.

But the success of the young superstar on the field will impact more than the mood of sports fans in St. Louis. He could be a key to whether the Rams remain in St. Louis over the long term.

The St. Louis Cardinals have seven more games remaining on this road trip, all against losing-record teams. Uh oh. Daniel McCutchen pitched six shutout innings for his third victory as a major league starter, Neil Walker tripled with the bases loaded and the Pittsburgh Pirates dealt the Cardinals another damaging loss by winning 5-2 on Wednesday night.

Stan Kroenke is the new majority owner of the St. Louis Rams. NFL owners unanimously approved Kroenke's bid to become the majority owner of the Rams. Kroenke is buying the team from Chip Rosenblum and Lucia Rodriguez.. The children of longtime owner Georgia Frontiere. Kroenke has been a minority owner in the team since it moved to St. Louis in 1995. Kroenke will own 70-percent of the team, to Chip and Lucia's 30-percent.

Lou Piniella says he's retiring after the Chicago Cubs' game against the Atlanta Braves so he can spend more time with his family. The 66-year-old manager made the announcement in a release handed out by the team before Sunday's game. Third base coach Mike Quade has been promoted to interim manager.
