New Diverging Diamond Interchange Going In At I-270 & Dorsett Road.
I-270 and Dorsett will be the sight of a new "Diverging Diamond" interchange. The first phase begins Friday night and will keep the road closed at I-270 all weekend long. Southbound I-270 will be diverted to a temporary bridge. When finished, traffic on Dorsett will actually criss-cross in a diamond pattern. That allows MODOT to reduce the number of traffic signals at the intersection. Some drivers might feel like they're heading into oncoming traffic.
